| Brooke H. Warrick President |
Brooke has been a leader in market research for over two decades. He is an expert in helping clients go beyond knowing just what consumers do. Instead, he explains why they do it. By utilizing all aspects of market research and marketing strategies, ranging from product development to positioning, niche marketing, distribution, merchandising and advertising, he specializes in turning quantitative and qualitative data into richly insightful stories about how to reach and sell to different kinds of consumers. Mr. Warrick is an international speaker on the impact of values and lifestyle trends on consumer behavior and offers informative seminars to businesses on recent developments in market research. In addition to conducting training sessions to guide businesses in implementing recommendations, he maintains contact with clients and is ready to update and assist them with their needs in an ever changing marketplace. Before becoming President of American LIVES, he was the Director of Marketing for the VALS Program at Stanford Research Institute where he created the well-known video, "An American Portrait." He later authored "The Builder's Guide to Moveup Buyers", an incisive look at the present and future state of the home building industry and its consumers. Mr. Warrick earned an MS in Psychology from San Francisco State University. |
| Dr. Paul H. Ray Co-Founder |
Paul is a social scientist and management consultant and one of the leaders in the U.S. in applying both qualitative and quantitative research methods to practical market research problems. He has devised new market segmentation methodologies based on analysis of values and lifestyles as a cultural phenomenon, and has developed new methods for market opportunities analysis, for niche marketing, for product development, and for strategic decision making. He excels in designing new research approaches precisely fitted to client needs, especially in consumer surveys. An innovator in constructing and using gaming simulations and tradeoff games for clients to understand complex problems of strategic decision making and consumer preference analysis, he co-developed the world's largest and most realistic urban gaming simulation, METRO-APEX, used to train managers in over 100 universities and in governments in 5 countries. He designed and guided the largest program evaluation research effort ever mounted in the Canadian Government, in energy conservation. Before joining American LIVES, Inc., Dr. Ray was Chief of Conservation and Renewable Energy Policy Research for the Government of Canada. Dr. Ray has a B.A., cum laude, in Anthropology from Yale, and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Michigan, where he was an Associate Professor of Urban Planning and a Faculty Associate of the Institute for Social Research. Over the last 30 years, his research, teaching, and consulting activities have focused on interdisciplinary social science analysis of social change and public policy, and on the use of systems approaches to integrate theory and practice in the strategies of professionals in business and government. He has published extensively on energy conservation policy and social research. In the past year, he completed research of over 100,000 Americans exploring how the subcultures of values permeate all aspects of American life. In this research, he identified a new subculture of Americans named the Cultural Creatives. His Work on the Cultural Creatives has been featured in American Demographics and the Utne Reader. The Cultural Creatives: How 50 Million People Are Changing the World, has just been released by Harmony Books and is Dr. Ray's follow up to his years of research on the Cultural Creatives (co-authored by Sherry Anderson, Ph.D.) |
| Alison Stevens Project Director |
Alison is responsible for directing and organizing research projects at ALI, and has over 20 years of survey design and management experience. She assists and maintains contact with clients in all stages of project planning. Ms. Stevens excels at establishing and communicating, between the client and ALI, what the goals and scope of the research project will be. Before joining in the founding of American LIVES, Ms. Stevens was a Cost Accountant for Hewlett-Packard and served as a consultant to several Bay Area companies. She has a B.S. in Business Administration and an MBA from Arizona State University. |
| Gabrielle Kuzsel Research Specialist |
Gabrielle Kuzsel joined ALI in 1995, bringing fresh insight and skills to her position as Research Specialist. She is a leading researcher with a focus on understanding consumers and interpreting survey results for clients. She assists clients in all phases of research, from questionnaire design, meaningful and insightful analysis of data and report preparation, to developing effective market strategies. Ms. Kuzsel has co-authored our annual research reports. Ms. Kuzsel holds two B.S. degrees, cum laude, in Advertising and Psychology. |
